I'm getting married!!!

Well, here I am writing another blog! Another boring old blog which you are probably thinking, why is she bothering? Boredom mainly as the wife to be is in the kitchen cooking dinner while I'm waiting not so patiently! What can I say, I like things done straight away!

So... Who am I you may ask? I am a weird, sometimes deluded, plump 20-something woman sat on her backside typing away for reasons she can't quite remember but in reality my name is Catherine, I am 23 years old studying music at university and ever so slightly in love!

So as you may have guessed by now, our relationship isn't exactly the conventional set-up as my future spouse is, you've got it, a woman! However I hasten to add that that doesn't change a thing because if anything it only helps because I haven't got an annoying, clingy man drinking down the pub, lounging on the sofa playing XBox and refusing to the dishes..... Instead, I've got a woman doing that instead however if I actually admitted that I'd get a spanking.... Oooo, a spanking, now there's a thought! Anyway, in reality she is called Debbie, she's turning 20 in a few weeks (which I think sounds better as I don't want people to think I'm a cradle snatcher!), we met a few months before going to university together to study music and hopefully *fingers crossed* she's also madly in love with me too!

So by now you have probably given up reading but if you are one of the faithful who is committed to finishing what you've started you might want to know our proposal story so here it is - I'm afraid it's a very boring one unfortunately but early on in the summer we started talking about married. We both knew that we were with 'the one' and it was never a case of if but when! We started looking around for engagement rings that we liked and eventually we found two rings that we both liked. The original idea of shortlisting a few each of us liked then letting the other choose just never happened! We wanted 'the' ring and were damned if we were guna loose out on our absolute favourite! Once they were ordered, we decided that we would put them in their respective boxes and store them in the safe until Christmas Day when we'd get engaged officially..... Or so we thought! Any of you girls out there reading this know that it's like a new handbag or dress; once you've put it on, you don't want to take it off and it was the same with our rings! This left us in a bit of a predicament though because according to the family, we'd only been together since May (although technically January, we just kept it underwraps) which isn't exactly long in their eyes and given the fact not everyone was happy, we were understandably a little apprehensive of telling 'certain' people but it had to be done so we bit the bullet and told my parents over the phone while they were on holiday..... Our thinking was wait until they are home from the evening quiz at the pub, catch them after a few pints and with them being abroad, there's no way they can stop me or have a go too much because lets face it, that's what the 'end call' button is for!!! They took it surprisingly well but the aftermath for a few months was that they struggled a bit until we ultimately had an argument. It cleared the air though and they are now helping us plan and organise things so it's all worked out.... Finally! So once they'd been told, the family and our friends, it was down to the best bit that every girl dreams of..... WEDDING PLANNING!!!!!!!!
